  • The dynamics process of degenerative joint disease

  • Review the stages of degeneration with case examples:

  • Discover a new tool for demonstrating degeneration with kinematic imaging

Upper Extremity Adjusting
  • Learn how the upper extremity functions as a chain of connected “machines”

  • How the fibrosis of repair from injury, leading to joint fixation/subluxation, results in over-use injuries such as: 

    Cervical Torticolis

    Shoulder Impingement

    Bursitis

    Rotator Cuff Syndrome

  • Adjustive technique for:

Arthritis In Everyday Practice - What to Look For and How It Affects Care

  • Practical review of common arthritis findings seen in chiropractic practice.

  • Interpretation of signs, differential diagnosis and case management implications.

  • Review of common arthritides of the spine, including:

    Degenerative joint disease

    Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH)

    Ankylosing Spondylitis

  • Review of common arthritides of the extremities, including:

    Degenerative joint disease

    Gout

    Calcium pyrophosphate deposition (CPPD) disease

    Hydroxyapatite deposition disease (HADD)

CE Renewal requirements

  Chiropractic License Radiography Supervisor and Operator Permit
Expires: Annually at the end of your birth month Every two years.  Expiration date printed on permit
CE required: 12 hours, including 4 hours of adjustive technique.   10 hours of x-ray.

James Carter, DC, DACBR

An associate professor of radiology at Life West, Dr. Carter received his Diplomate, American Chiropractic Board of Radiology in 1988. He has been integrally involved in the development of Life West’s digital imaging facilities.

Bryan Gatterman, DC, DACBR

Dr. Bryan Gatterman is clinical radiologist for the Life West Health Center and has served on the Life West faculty since 1983. He received his Diplomate, American Chiropractic Board of Radiology at Western States Chiropractic College in 1982. He is a past president of the American Chiropractic College of Radiology.

Paul D. Walton, BS, DC, CCSP, CCEP

Dr. Walton has been in private practice since graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in 1984.  His 1980 Bachelors of Science in Physical Education emphasized biomechanics, exercise physiology and athletic training. He is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP), Certified Chiropractic Extremity Physician (CCEP) and has completed the Chiropractic Orthopedic Curriculum.  He has been a member of the Life Chiropractic College West faculty since 1988 teaching in the clinic and technique departments. 

Dr. Walton is also a member of the support team for Coach Mike Bottom and Bottom Line Aquatics.  Every summer Coach Bottom holds a summer camp at UC Berkeley for elite Olympic sprint swimmers from all around the world. For over 6 years, Dr. Walton has been helping the athletes get the "Chiropractic Edge" to maximize their performance.

Life West will only notify advance registrants of any cancellation or program changes. Life West is not responsible for any expenses incurred by registrants due to adjustments or cancellations.

A $50 processing fee will be charged for refunds if the registrant provides written notice of cancellation at least one (1) business day prior to the seminar start date. Registration is nonrefundable if the program for which it applies is conducted as scheduled; however, a credit voucher may be issued, minus a $25 processing charge. A credit voucher must be requested within sixty (60) days of the seminar end date. The credit voucher may be applied towards another Life West program and must be redeemed within one (1) year of the original scheduled program date or it will be forfeited.
