Michael Barry, DC, DACBR

1 hr X-ray

Dr. Michael Barry is the past president of the American Chiropractic College of Radiology and has been appointed clinical instructor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is a postgraduate faculty member at Parker, Logan, and Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. Dr. Barry has authored many journal articles and several book chapters on radiology.

Monika Buerger, DC
Dr. Buerger, a 1991 graduate of Life West, has practiced in Livermore, California since 1992. She specializes in sensory integration disorders in children and authored “History and Physical Assessment of the Pediatric Patient” in the textbook Pediatric Chiropractic. Dr. Buerger also serves as an instructor for the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association’s Diplomate program.

Karri Cardinal, DC

A Certified Fellow in Chiropractic BioPhysics, Dr. Cardinal is on the technique faculty at Life Chiropractic College West. A 1998 Life West graduate, Dr. Cardinal has a full-time CBP practice in San Francisco.

Frederick Carrick, DC, PhD, DACNB

Dr. Carrick is a noted educator, clinician, and instructor, and a Fellow of the American College of Chiropractic of Neurology. He is the president of the American Chiropractic Association Council on Neurology. Dr. Carrick is widely published in indexed scientific literature, has conducted numerous lectures and presentations worldwide and has received a host of professional, governmental, and civic awards.

Gerard W. Clum, DC
President of Life West and worldwide advocate for the chiropractic profession, Dr. Gerry Clum is the past president of the World Federation of Chiropractic. He has also held leadership positions in the International Chiropractors Association, the Council on Chiropractic Education, and the Association of Chiropractic Colleges. His extensive involvement allows him great insight into the latest trends and developments in the profession.

Jason Deitch, DC

The chief wellness officer for The Master’s Circle, Dr. Deitch is the founder of the Discover Wellness Center and the co-author of the best-selling Discover Wellness: How Staying Healthy Can Make You Rich. A former Life West faculty member, he is an emerging leader in cutting edge wellness care. Dr. Deitch travels the nation speaking with employers, insurance brokers, and wellness professionals to share his passion for providing common sense strategies to solve America's health care crisis.

T. Andrew Downey, DC
A 1998 graduate of Life West, Dr. Downey specializes in the detection and correction of Adverse Mechanical Spinal Cord Tension, with an emphasis in development of spinal and neural integrity. In his practice, he has researched clinical outcomes covering seven years and hundreds of patients, showing statistically significant improvement in overall quality of life. His work relating neurology to quality-of-life assessment has been presented at national and international conferences. Dr. Downey owns Graceful Health Chiropractic in Sacramento, California.

Benjamin Glass, DC, DACBR

Dr. Glass has a private radiology practice in North Royalton, Ohio. He provides radiology reports for referring chiropractors that include detailed description of postural and biomechanical findings. He is also a contracted chiropractic radiologist for eleven different imaging centers including Upright MRI of New Mexico and North Ohio Medical Imaging.

John Hyland, DC, DACBR, DACBO

Dr. Hyland, a consultant and educator based in Boulder, Colorado, specializes in the chiropractic rehabilitation. He consults, advises and educates doctors of chiropractic in the spinal rehabilitation topics of postural re-training, behavior change, wellness, biomechanics, and orthotics. Dr. Hyland has served the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners since 1999 as a consultant in practical testing.

Hari Khalsa, DC

Dr. Khalsa is a 1993 Life West graduate who received clinical excellence honors. He practiced in Phoenix, Arizona, for ten years before returning in 2004 to teach in Life West’s technique and the philosophy departments. Dr. Khalsa practices in Fairfax, California.

Kim Khauv, DC, MPH

A full-time member of Life West’s research faculty, Dr. Khauv teaches clinical research methodology, public health, and toxicology. A 2000 graduate from Life West, he has presented research papers at several national conferences and has served on the test-writing committee for the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners

D. Robert Kuhn, DC, DACBR
Dr. Kuhn is the chair of the clinical science department at Logan College of Chiropractic and has a private practice in radiologic consulting. He serves as a member of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners Item Writing Committee, and is author of papers published in Roentgen Brief and the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics.

David Marcarian, MA

Mr. Marcarian completed a Master’s degree specializing in human psychophysiology and ergonomics at NASAUniversityin 1986. He invented the MyoVision Surface EMG system and all software for Range of Motion, Thermography and sEMG studies. His Surface EMG course is endorsed by several state chiropractic associations, and he has lectured to thousands of health care professionals in the proper use of, and interpretation of, sEMG studies.

Jan Martensen, DC, PhD, DACBR
Dr. Martensen has been a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology since 1990 and has specialty certification in CT and MRI interpretation since 1993. In 2004, he earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Sciences with a concentration in Radiology. A past president of the American Chiropractic College of Radiologists, Dr. Martensen is a chiropractic radiologist for many imaging firms including Progressive Wellness Imaging in Sylvania, Ohio.

Jim Naccarato, DC

Dr. Naccarato, who holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology, is a practice coach and speaker who has helped doctors build successful practices and business since 1991. He is owner of The Naccarato Leadership Center. The enterprise also includes The Realigned Practice, The Personal and Self-Directed Coaching Program, and the Weekly Email-Coaching Program. Dr. Naccarato, a 1988 graduate of Life West, has also authored several practice management books and programs.


Matthew Norton, DC
Dr. Norton opened his private practice, Norton Chiropractic Wellness Center of Fresno, California in 1997. A 1983 graduate of Life West, he is the author of Where Does It Hurt?, which provides dozens of real-life before-and-after stories and Dr. Norton’s approach to not only resolve pain, but also to restore health and well-being.

Donna Pontrello, DC

4 hrs Technique

 

Dr. Pontrello is a member of Life West’s technique faculty and teaches the advanced Atlas Orthogonal technique elective, having received post-graduate training in AO at the Sweat Clinic for Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic in Atlanta, Georgia. She served as director and chiropractor of a health clinic in Missouri before moving to Petaluma, California in 2006 to open her own practice.

William Ruch, DC
A 1986 Life West alumnus, Dr. Ruch teaches clinical anatomy at Life West and has a practice in Oakland ,California.He is the author of Atlas of Common Subluxations of the Human Spine and Pelvis.

Gary Schultz, DC, DACBR

1.5 hrs X-Ray

Dr. Schultz is a lecturer, teacher, and author in the field of diagnostic imaging and technology assessment. He is the current chief academic officer at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon. He has served in many leadership positions with the American Chiropractic College of Radiology, including a term as president.

Donald Stokes, DC

Dr. Stokes, an author, national lecturer, and business director, had been in private practice since 1983, until recently selling the practice to focus solely on the Business Industrial Chiropractic Services 2020 (BICS) program. BICS was founded by Dr. Stokes in 1983 to enable doctors to most effectively educate local businesses on the benefits of chiropractic services for their employees. A 1983 Life West graduate, he lives in Peachtree City, Georgia.


Terry Yochum, DC, DACBR
Dr. Yochum is currently director of the Rocky Mountain Chiropractic Radiological Center in Denver, Colorado, and an adjunct professor of radiology at Southern California University of Health Sciences. In 1996 he was honored as a Fellow of the American Chiropractic College of Radiology. Dr. Yochum’s benchmark text Essentials of Skeletal Radiology is the required text in radiology at all chiropractic colleges worldwide and used in over 100 medical schools.
